Mansfield Commuter Rail Station Closed Thursday After Fatality

MANSFIELD (CBS) – The Mansfield Commuter Rail station will be closed Thursday morning after a person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train on Wednesday.

The train was coming from Washington D.C. and hit the "trespasser" at approximately 3:00 p.m.

There were major delays along the route. No one on-board the train was hurt.

Commuters are advised to go to Route 128 station to catch inbound trains to Boston on Thursday morning. There will be limited parking at Mansfield with connecting bus service to Sharon.

Delays on the Providence Line should be expected on Thursday.
