Manchester, NH Police Investigating Rash Of Armed Robberies, Burglaries

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) -- Manchester, New Hampshire police are investigating a slew of armed robberies and burglaries that happened this week.

Convenience Store Target Of Two Robberies In One Week

Officers were called to A A Market on Hall Street on Thursday afternoon. The store was also robbed on Sunday, police said.

The clerk, who was the same victim in the first robbery, told police he believed the suspect was the same man who robbed him on Sunday.

After the weekend robbery, the clerk armed himself with a metal pipe and chased the suspect out of the store before he could take money from the register. The suspect was wielding a knife during the robbery attempt, police say.

The suspect is described as a white man, with a thin build, dirty blond hair, wearing a black bandanna over his face, a gray long-sleeved shirt and gray sweatpants.

A second man may have served as a lookout, police said. He is described as a heavyset man, wearing a black football jersey with the number 99 on it.

Gas Station Robbed

Officers responded to the Mobil gas station on Eddy Road at about 11:20 p.m. on Thursday.

The clerk told police that a man walked into the store, lifted his shirt and showed the handle of a black handgun and demanded she give him cash from the register.

She described the suspect as a white man, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, shaved head with some brown hair, black ECKO sweatshirt and black shorts.

Cumberland Farms Robbed Twice

Police were called to the Cumberland Farms on Hanover Street early Friday morning. The store has been robbed twice in four days, police say.

The clerk, who was robbed at knife-point around 4 a.m. on Sunday, was robbed again by a knife-wielding suspect shortly before 3 a.m. on Friday.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-8 to 6-foot tall white man, 130-to-150 pounds, short blonde hair with blue eyes, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue sweatpants.

Police are looking into three separate burglaries that took place at a maintenance shed at the Derryfield School and The Kitchen on River Road, Genie Vacuum Cleaner Company on Hooksett Road.
