New Hampshire Police Seize $56K, Drugs In Fake Identity Case

MANCHESTER, N.H. (CBS) – New Hampshire State Police seized more than $56,000 in cash and a large assortment of drugs from a man allegedly using a fake identity in Manchester on Monday.

Authorities say 47-year-old Valentin Delo Soto Perez, of the Dominican Republic, was using a stolen identity to get a New Hampshire driver's license. In Perez's home, police found 55 fingers of heroin, two bricks of cocaine, individual bags of cocaine, scales, Percocet, marijuana and $56,820.

"The street value of the confiscated drugs is estimated to be worth approximately $40,000," police said. "The amount of heroin seized removed roughly 2,750 individual doses of the drug."

Soto Perez was set to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Manchester court on charges including identity theft, possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, and being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
