1-Year-Old's 'Suspicious' Death At Manchester, NH Hotel Under Investigation

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) – Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 1-year-old girl at a New Hampshire hotel Monday night.

Manchester Police responded to the Econo Lodge in Manchester around 6 p.m.

When officers arrived, the girl was unresponsive. She was rushed to Catholic Medical Center but never regained consciousness.

An autopsy to determine the child's cause of death was conducted Tuesday but the results were inconclusive. "Toxicology and more testing will need to be done to identify a definitive cause of death," said the medical examiner's office.

No arrests have been made, but that is a possibility.

Manchester Police spokeswoman Heather Hamel said officers interviewed everybody believed to be around the girl leading up to her death.

"It doesn't seem to be natural causes and it is an unexpected death," Hamel said. "That's how it's being investigated right now."
