Man, Woman Killed In I-495 Crash Identified

BOSTON (CBS) - State Police have identified the two people killed in a crash on Interstate 495 south in Wrentham Monday.

Alexandra Walsh, 22, of Bedford, and Thomas MacPhee, 24, of Hyannis, were both passengers in a pickup truck that slammed into a guardrail and burst into flames just before Exit 15 shortly after midnight.

I-495 south was closed for nearly four hours after this truck crashed. (WBZ-TV)

The truck's driver, Douglas Hayes, 23, of Hyannis, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence on a medical rescue helicopter.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash or if any charges will be filed.

The southbound side of 495 was closed between exits 15 and 16 for more than three hours after the incident.
