Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Portsmouth, NH

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) — Police say a 51-year-old man trying to cross a Portsmouth road early Monday ran into one vehicle and was knocked into the path of a van, which struck and killed him.

State Police say Timothy Morrison of Portsmouth was attempting to cross Route 1 near Southgate Plaza at 6 a.m. when he ran into the side of a southbound Jeep Cherokee. Morrison was knocked to the ground where he was hit by a southbound van and dragged underneath the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police say speed, alcohol, drugs and driver distraction were not factors in the accident. The investigation is continuing.
