67-Year-Old Man Hit By Car On Route 24 In Fall River

FALL RIVER (CBS) -- A man was struck by a driver on Route 24 Monday night, Massachusetts State Police said.

The 67-year-old Fall River man was hit around 9:45 p.m.

State Police said he had pulled over between exits 8A and B, and was standing outside of his car when it was hit by a Toyota Avalon traveling north.

He suffered life-threatening injuries, and was taken by helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital.

He remains in critical condition.

State Police said the driver, a 59-year-old Taunton woman, stayed at the scene after the collision.
