Man Shot And Killed By Lynn Police Officer During Alleged Drug Deal Identified

LYNN (CBS) -- A man shot and killed by an undercover police officer after an alleged drug deal in Lynn on Monday has been identified.

Rafael Suazo, 23, of Boston, was shot after authorities say he tried to run over the officer with his car after completing a drug deal.

A drug task force saw the alleged drug buy around 11:30 a.m. on Jefferson Street. Authorities say the officer showed his badge and then the suspect drove his green SUV at him, knocking him to the ground.

The officer was able to fire his gun once and hit the suspect, who then lost control of his vehicle and crashed it into two other cars on the street.

Suazo was MedFlighted to Mass. General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sharona Landy, 32 and Vinchenzo Pintone, 33, both of Peabody, who allegedly bought heroin from Suazo are due in court Wednesday.
