Man Seriously Injured In 3-Car Crash In Peabody

PEABODY (CBS) – State Police are investigating a three-car crash in Peabody.

Troopers say the crash happened around 6 a.m. on Saturday on Route 1.

One of the vehicles hit a utility pole and brought down live wires into the road. The road was shut down for about two-and-a-half hours.

One driver, a 37-year-old man from Peabody, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mass. General Hospital.

Police say the initial investigation suggests excessive speed may have been a contributing factor in this crash.
