Man Run Over By Stolen SUV In Somerville

SOMERVILLE (CBS) – Two people have been arrested after man was run over by a stolen SUV in Somerville Friday evening.

A state trooper first realized the white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stolen Friday afternoon on Mystic Avenue.

The trooper called for backup and the driver took off.

Police believe the Jeep ran off the road under the I-93 overpass near Route 38 and hit a man walking in the median. The victim, a 26-year-old Somerville man, was taken to Mass. General Hospital.

The 18-year-old driver, Arthur Woods of Arlington, and his passenger, 19-year-old Elvira Sanchez, were arrested.

The Jeep was reported stolen from a residence in Melrose. They will be arraigned in Somerville District Court next week.
