Man Dies After Shooting In Lynn

LYNN (CBS) -- A man died after he was shot in Lynn early Saturday morning. Police responded to Lander Street and Howard Street around 5 a.m.

A 25-year-old man, later identified as Bryan Omar Mendez, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Salem Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Essex District Attorney's Office.

One neighbor told WBZ-TV that they woke up to a "blood-curdling scream."

"I just assumed it was typical arguing or whatever," they said. "Then I heard pop, pop, pop. Gunshots or something like that."

Investigators were on scene through the early morning. They ask that anyone with information about the shooting contact Lynn police.

No arrests have been announced. The D.A.'s office, State Police and Lynn Police are investigating.
