Man Dies After Being Hit By Plow In Medford

MEDFORD (CBS) – A man has died after he was hit by a plow in Medford Monday afternoon.

Cesar Moya, 60, of Chelsea, was struck while walking in a parking lot on Middlesex Street at about 1:30 p.m. He was transported to Mass. General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

"This incident remains an active investigation," said Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. "The circumstances surrounding what occurred are still being examined. However, due to the unprecedented weather we are all experiencing, it bears saying that we all need to be mindful of public safety issues as we navigate sidewalks, parking lots, and roads."

Authorities say Moya had just finished working a shift at the Whole Foods Market and was leaving work when he was struck.

The Fall River man who was operating the plow truck has been interviewed by police.
