Man Dead, Woman Hospitalized After Nashua Fire

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — The Nashua Fire Department says a man is dead and a woman hospitalized following an early morning fire in the city.

Crews were called to the Waltham Drive home just before 2 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of a life alarm.

Arriving firefighters spotted smoke coming from the residence and then discovered flames in the rear kitchen.

Firefighters found a deceased male in the kitchen. A non-ambulatory female was found in a rear bedroom. She was treated for smoke inhalation and then hospitalized.

The names of the victims were not released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
