Man Charged In North Andover Triple Murder Held Without Bail

LAWRENCE (CBS) — A man charged with killing three people in North Andover allegedly confessed the crimes to his family, according to court documents.

Fifty-seven-year-old Salvatore Guglielmino was arrested Tuesday after three men were found dead in a public elderly housing complex on Foulds Terrace. He was held without bail after facing a judge on Wednesday.

Guglielmino lived in the same building as the victims. All three were found beaten to death in their own apartments.

The victims were identified as Walter Hamilton, 78; George Kettinger, Jr., 79; and 68-year-old Francis Kort.

Guglielmino was arraigned Wednesday in Lawrence District Court on three counts of murder.

Guglielmino needed assistance to stand during the proceedings. He interrupted the clerk while the charges were read, saying "that's a mistake." The judge reprimanded him and Guglielmino apologized to the court.

"He didn't look good, did he?," Guglielmino's attorney said outside the courtroom.

According to court documents, Guglielmino's sister told authorities that her brother said he knocked down three doors and killed three people. His mother is noted as telling police her son said he "killed them all."

His next court date is scheduled for February 5.

His mother and uncle live in the same complex. They say he is bipolar and doesn't remember what happened.

"I was in shock, you know my whole family is in shock," Angelo Guglielmino, the suspect's uncle said Tuesday. "Everybody's devastated, his brothers, his sister his mother, we can't believe it."

Foulds Terrace is a 52-unit public housing development for elderly and disabled people.

"It makes you sick to think about this. It's disgusting," a neighbor told WBZ-TV's Ken MacLeod.
