Man Arrested In Everett Murder

EVERETT (CBS/AP) -- Police arrested an Everett man in connection with a murder over the weekend.

Rigoberto Escobar, 26, was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. He is charged with murder in the death of Magno Sosa, of Nantucket, who was found dead at about 2 a.m. Saturday inside an Elmwood Street home, officials say.

The victim was shot several times in the head, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

"While this is still an active investigation," said Ryan in a statement, "We are confident that the person responsible for this violent death is in custody."

Escobar is set to be arraigned Tuesday in Malden District Court.

It is not immediately known if he has an attorney.
