Maine Pier Collapse Caught On Camera

EASTPORT, MAINE (CBS) -- A pier collapse in Maine that injured one person was caught on camera early Thursday morning.

The Coast Guard reports that the end of the Eastport breakwall fell into the water at about 2:20 a.m. A caretaker aboard a 77-foot schooner suffered a leg injury and the boat was damaged.

Officials also said the Eastport pilot boat was submerged, an unoccupied pickup truck is in the water and there was reportedly a sheen in the area.

Crews are working to move vessels in the area to a safe location. The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
