LYNN (CBS) -- A man's body was found in the snow in front of a home in Lynn Monday morning.

A person was clearing a property on Surfside Road with a snowblower when the body of a man was uncovered.

The Essex District Attorney's Office later identified the man as 38-year-old Carlos Aponte of Lynn.

They said Aponte had visible injuries to his chest and neck, but they weren't yet sure if he was shot or stabbed. Police are reviewing surveillance video that shows three men in the area of the crime scene.

Earlier in the day, Lynn police responded to a 911 call in the area around 4 a.m., but didn't find anything out of the ordinary. The body was found about an hour later.

After the discovery, officers could be seen using metal detectors to look for evidence.

Residents say there was a lot of loud music and traffic in this area Sunday night.

"Not only was I sad, but I was scared automatically, it was so close to my house," said a woman who lives nearby.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
