Thief Caught On Video Stealing Christmas Laser Light Display In Lynn

LYNN (CBS) - They're the hottest holiday decoration and police say they're popular with thieves, too.

Star Shower Laser Lights are being swiped in cities and towns across Massachusetts, but in Lynn, one homeowner caught the thief in action.

"Just dumb. If you wanted it that bad, you could have knocked on the door and just asked," said the homeowner.

Sandy, who didn't want to provide her last name, said she noticed last week. The surveillance camera on her front porch captured the crime.

"It's unbelievable! Why would you steal something you could buy at Walmart? He was like a 35-40 year old man driving a new car. Give me a break!" she said.

The suspect struck after midnight and police say he had cased the home first.

"I could see if he did it for his kids or something, you know? But just to steal someone's stuff, it's not right," she said.
