Two Brothers Charged In Deadly Lynn Brick Attack

LYNN (CBS) – Two men face several charges including murder after they allegedly attacked two people with a brick on Mother's Day.

Werner Figueroa and Selvin Garcia, both of Lynn, were arrested in connection with the Sunday attack on Blake Street.

Reading resident Sergio Sanchez died Monday at a Boston hospital.

A second man, identified in court as the victim's brother Sergio Sanchez, was also there at the time of the attack.

Sergio Sanchez called 911 on his cell phone while the attackers ran away. Figueroa and Garcia allegedly returned and stole the phone.

Garcia and Figueroa are charged with murder, armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Both were arraigned Friday in Lynn District Court. The brothers were ordered held without bail after a not guilty plea was entered on their behalf.

Prosecutors say a fight at Los Vegas Bar prompted the deadly incident.

Figueroa and Garcia, who are brothers, are accused of stalking Sanchez and his brother as they left a Lynn bar in an effort to settle a score.
