Low-Flying Helicopter To Search Revere For Missing Swampscott Mother
REVERE (CBS) – The search for a missing mother from Swampscott has expanded to Revere.
Revere police tweeted Friday that Massachusetts State Police will be searching for Jaimee Mendez over the city with a "low flying helicopter."
A state police helicopter was seen flying off the coast off Swampscott Friday morning.
Mendez, 25, was last heard from on the evening of November 6 and was reported missing to Swampscott Police two days later, according to the Essex District Attorney's Office.
Investigators have been looking for her since then in various locations in Salem, Lynn and Swampscott.
Earlier this week, a state police dive team searched the Floating Bridge Pond near Route 107 in Lynn.
Mendez has a 5-year-old son with autism and her family says she would never leave him for this long. She also has diabetes.
"We don't believe in our heart that she's alive," sister Alyssa Mendez told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Tuesday. "We've been searching nonstop day and night."
Her family said Jamiee was last seen with a man who is a known Level 3 sex offender.
There have been no arrests in the case.
