Logan Airport Will Be Ready For Patriots' Arrival Monday Night

BOSTON (CBS) - It may be slow going at Logan Airport Monday, but they will be ready for the arrival of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots Monday night. That's according to Massport Director of Aviation Ed Freni.

"We'll have the airport ready for them, depending on the weather," Freni said Monday morning. "The arrival time probably will be adjusted, however we're ready for them."

Freni expects to keep Logan Airport open on Monday and estimated about half of all flights will still take off and land, that's about 500. Their goal is to keep two runways open and operational.

"We have about 60 operators out there, probably 50 pieces of equipment on the airport field and everything is in good shape. Winds are a big factor here. The drifting and blowing is not quite what it was with the last storm."

Freni acknowledged there are a lot of Patriots fans trying to make their way back from Arizona, and said they'll do their best to get everybody home.

"We'll keep the airport running and open and safe and we just hope people will call their airlines to see if their flight has been impacted."
