Roads closed in Leominster due to flooding

LEOMINSTER – As a result of significant flooding in Leominster, several roads in the city area closed.

Leominster is under a state of emergency and people who live in some low-lying areas are being asked to evacuate.

Mayor Dean Mazzarella posted a list of road closures. They include:

  • McKay and Washington Street - Use caution due to sinkhole
  • Arlington Street and Notre Dame Street - Down to one lane
  • Exchange Street and Colonial Drive - Closed
  • Lancaster Street and Malburn Terrace - Closed
  • Main Street and Hamilton Street - Closed
  • Mechanic Street and Water Street - Closed
  • North Main Street and Priest Street - Closed
  • Pleasant Street and Pond Street - Closed
  • Wachusett Street and Elm Street - Closed
  • Marguerite Ave. and Central Street - Closed

People in low-lying areas near Barrett Park Pond Dam are being asked to evacuate.
