Nguyen Helps Revs Beat Seattle

FOXOBORO, Mass. (AP) — Lee Nguyen scored on a penalty kick and assisted on Femi Hollinger-Janzen's go-ahead goal in the New England Revolution's 2-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night.

Nguyen tied it in the 24th minute after the referee ruled that defender Erik Friberg handled the ball inside the penalty area. Nguyen has a goal and an assist in each of the last three matches.

Hollinger-Janzen, who entered the game in the 76th minute, went to the far post from outside the box to give the Revolution (3-4-7) the lead about 4 minutes later.

Bobby Shuttleworth punched away, but New England failed to control, an entry by Joevin Jones and home-grown Aaron Kovar put a right footer just inside the far post to give the Sounders a 1-0 lead in the seventh. It was his first professional goal.

Seattle (4-7-1), without Clint Dempsey and Nelson Valdez due to international duty, has lost three in a row.
