Lawmakers Frustrated With State's Health Care Website Failure

BOSTON (AP) — Lawmakers say they're disappointed with the failure of the state's health care connector website and frustrated with the administration's response to the problems.

Sarah Iselin (IH'-zeh-lin), a health care executive hired last week to coordinate a fix for the website, told a hearing of the Legislature's Health Care Financing Committee it may be months before the site is working properly.

CGI Group, the chief vendor for the website, was also the top contractor on the troubled federal health care website.

While lawmakers praised Iselin for her efforts, some expressed concern that no top administration officials, or even Gov. Deval Patrick himself, were present to testify at the oversight hearing.

Legislators said they have been hearing from constituents worried that the technical glitches have left them without access to health insurance.
