NH Man Charged With Drunk Driving After Truck Falls Through Ice

LANCASTER, N.H. (CBS) – A man was charged with drunk driving after his truck fell through the ice of a New Hampshire pond.

A pickup truck fell through the ice of Martin Meadow Pond in Lancaster on Thursday around 8:10 p.m.

The only person who was in the truck was Landon Wright, 24, of Lancaster. He was able to get out of the truck safely.

Police say Wright had been ice fishing on the pond and was trying to drive back onto land when his truck fell through the ice about 100 feet from shore.

The pond is about eight feet deep in the area the truck fell into the water.

After he was checked out by paramedics, Wright was taken to the Lancaster Police Department for tests.

He was then charged with operating under the influence.

Wright was notified that he has 24 hours to find a way approved by the Department of Environmental Servives to remove the truck from the pond.
