'Unique' Baby Snapping Turtles Recovered From Mass. Pool

LAKEVILLE (CBS) – Two "unique" snapping turtle hatchlings were recovered from a Lakeville pool on Wednesday.

Massachusetts Environmental Police shared a photo of the 2-day old turtles on social media. One is albino while the other is thought to be melanistic – the opposite of albino.

Authorities said it was unlikely they would have survived in the wild, so the pair was brought to a reptile rehabilitation specialist.
