Kraft: Monday Night's Loss 'One Of The Worst' Since Buying Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- Robert Kraft has owned the Patriots for 20 years and has experienced plenty of ups and downs along the way.

But the owner had never experienced anything like Monday night's 41-14 loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, and it's not a feeling he wants to experience often.

"Last night was one of the worst games since I've owned the team," Kraft said Tuesday at a community event at the Igo Elementary School in Foxborough. "It was very draining."

Not much went right for the Patriots against Kansas City, with the 27-point drubbing the second largest margin of defeat under Bill Belichick. Kraft said he briefly caught up with the coach after the game.

"We chatted and I know he feels the way I feel. Sometimes… We're not robots. It was just a bad night all around," said Kraft. "That wasn't in the game plan."

But at 2-2 the Patriots are still atop the AFC East, and with 12 games still on the schedule Kraft is confident the team can fix what has gone wrong over the first quarter of the season.

"I feel pretty bad after what happened, but for the record we are in first place, as strange as that might seem," said Kraft. "I still have faith in this team. It's really not what happens now, it's what happens after Thanksgiving that counts. Let's hope things are a lot better by then."

Kraft did feel a little better Tuesday afternoon after cutting the ribbon for the new playground at the Igo School, which was funded by a $60,000 grant from the Patriots Charitable Foundation.

"Coming to this school and listening to these cheers, I thought it was like my mother welcoming me," said Kraft. "It was a good balance."
