Knicks' Carmelo Anthony Unlikely To Play Friday Night Against Celtics

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics host the Knicks on Friday night, and it doesn't look like they'll have to deal with New York's top scorer.

Knicks head coach Derek Fisher said that forward Carmelo Anthony is "questionable to doubtful" for the game at New York's morning shoot around on Friday. Anthony did not play in the Knick's loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night with a left knee injury.

In 21 games this season, Anthony has averaged 22.9 points on 46 percent shooting to go with 6.6 rebounds. In 26 career games against the Celtics, Anthony has averaged 25.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith is also doubtful for Friday's game.

While the Celtics have plenty of their own woes this season, the Knicks are just 4-20 on the season and have lost 10 straight games.
