I-Team's Call 4 Action Helps Man Stuck With Bill For Complimentary Rental Car

MEDFORD (CBS) - It was supposed to be a complimentary rental for a customer while his car was being repaired at a local dealership. But when the customer got stuck with the bill he reached out to the I-Team's Call 4 Action.

"I love my car. This is a great car. It was just that one thing that really screwed up my life and this began back in December," Glenn Matto told WBZ-TV.

That's when the transmission went on his Kia Amanti.

He had the car towed to York Kia in Medford for repairs. Weeks later, when it still wasn't fixed, Glenn says the owner offered to pay for a rental while the shop continued to work on the car.

Glenn picked up the rental on January 31st. By the time he returned it on March 10th he had racked up a $1,470 rental car bill.

It's a bill he thought the dealership would pay. Then Glenn's credit card was charged for the entire amount.

"That when I got livid because it was on my credit card. This should never happen," Matto said.

After weeks of phone calls and emails, Glenn was still stuck with the bill.

"I got sick of waiting so I called WBZ and I figured maybe they can help. You guys made some calls and a check came two days later," he said.

Kia declined to comment on this story.
