Keller @ Large: What's Wrong With An All-Woman Presidential Ticket?

BOSTON (CBS) - Wow, a new Bloomberg poll of Clinton supporters finds more than a third of them want the pride of Cambridge, Elizabeth Warren, to be her running mate.

We talked about some of the reasons why this shouldn't happen a few days ago, but here's a reason why it likely won't happen.

When they asked likely voters of all kinds if the country is "ready to elect two women," it was no better than a virtual tie, 48% no to 46% yes.

Really, guys?

What is that all about?

I'm already on record saying Oprah should consider running as an independent. She's a bigger TV star and more successful entrepreneur than Trump, much better liked than Clinton.

Are you telling me Oprah on an all-female ticket wouldn't appeal to you?

How about former Sec. of State Condoleeza Rice, perhaps teamed up with Oprah? Are you really not "ready" for something like that?

What is it about women in general that gives you guys pause? The fact that they're generally smarter than us? More competent? More empathic, but, when need be, tougher?

I thought we had evolved beyond that kind of sexism.

There's no excuse for nearly 60 percent of men to say we aren't ready for an all-woman ticket.

What a minute, excuse me – that's the percent of women who don't like the idea. Only 55 percent of men agree.

Discuss among yourselves.
