Keller @ Large: The Future Of Boston's Waterfront

BOSTON (CBS) -- Activists come and go in Boston, but for the last quarter of a century, Vivien Li has been a consistent voice for the public interest on waterfront development.

The Boston Harbor Association president is headed to Pittsburg to work on similar issues, but first sat down with WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller to talk about the waterfront's transformation.

If there's one thing that could've been done differently in developing the Seaport District, it would be better access, Li says.

"I think there should have been more emphasis on ways to get to the Seaport District," Li said. "Building in the water transportation right from the start."

Li says in the years to come, watch for new buildings on the waterfront that aren't just straight boxes.

"I think you're going to see much more creative architecture that's also much more friendly to pedestrians on the grounds as well," she said.

Keller also asks Li about the best and worst politicians she's had to work with.
