Keller @ Large: Rep. Joe Kennedy Says Trade Bill Could Hurt Middle Class

BOSTON (CBS) -- Rep. Joe Kennedy says he's not sold on President Barack Obama's proposed trade deal.

Proponents of the Trans-Pacific Partnership say it would boost the U.S. economy, but Kennedy told WBZ political analyst Jon Keller that he's worried about its impact on blue collar workers.

"This isn't going to be something that necessarily promotes the middle class," Kennedy said on Keller @ Large. "They've got a long way to go to sell me and a number of other members of our Congress."

Kennedy also talked about his support for Gov. Charlie Baker's efforts to ask for more aid from the federal government after a record-setting winter.

"This is not just an issue of a couple of extra trucks for snow removal," Kennedy said. "This is a devastating storm that essentially lasted a month."

Kennedy also offered his thoughts on proposals for reforming the MBTA.
