Keller @ Large: Panel Talks Presidential Race

BOSTON (CBS) -- Bernie Sanders really bristled on debate night when Clinton accused him of not really being loyal to the Obama agenda. Political analysts Joanna Weiss and Charlie Manning said Sanders' criticism of the Obama administration threatened his success.

"I think it's dangerous territory he's getting himself into," said Weiss. "It's a good position for Hillary Clinton to be in, to start pushing him on that."

Weiss and Manning sat down with WBZ political analyst Jon Keller to discuss the state of the 2016 presidential race on both the Democratic and Republican sides. First, they talked about Bernie Sanders' criticism of President Obama.

"There's no reason for Sanders to do this," said Manning. "Obama's not running again. When Obama comes up, he should say 'he's been a great president, he's gotten a lot done, and now we've got to move forward and this is the direction that I want to take the country.'"

On the Republican side, Jon noted that Donald Trump had become the focus of attack ads. Manning said that's because the other candidates have figured out that attacking Trump is better than attacking each other.

"Trump basically slipped through without anyone going after him," said Manning. "Now what we're seeing down in South Carolina is, all the other candidates are going against Trump."

"I think the goal of all the Republicans right now is to consolidate that, 'wait a minute, I don't know if he's the right guy to be president' vote for the establishment side," said Weiss.

Weiss, Manning, and Keller also spoke about Trump's vow to stop swearing at rallies.
