Keller @ Large: Buddy The Wonder Lab For President

BOSTON (CBS) - In a traditional sign of spring the year before a presidential election, Donald Trump has let it be known that he is thinking – seriously – of running for president of the United States.

Seriously.

Fact: Donald Trump has as much chance of being elected president as does my dog, Buddy the Wonder Lab.

However, life shows us that anything can happen. Did you know the Red Sox have won three World Series in the past 11 years?

So in that spirit, let's analyze this potential president showdown between Buddy and Mr. Trump.

As a general rule, a winning presidential candidate needs to have great hair. But Trump's hair, while spectacular in its own way, is not a natural development, while Buddy's fur is all her own and, as an added bonus, requires minimal grooming to look great.

Edge, Buddy.

In his latest burst of campaign wind, Trump says: "Americans deserve better than what they get from their politicians – who are all talk and no action!" OK, but when her food hits the bowl, Buddy is all action like you've never seen before.

Edge, Buddy.

Trump says: "We must…control our borders." Come watch Buddy in action in my yard sometime and you'll see borders being marked like you've never seen before.

Edge, Buddy.

And finally, motivation. Buddy just wants to play with and love up everyone she meets. Shake hands with Trump, and you need to check your rings and count your fingers afterwards.

Winner, Buddy the Lab.

Sorry Donald.

Politics is a ruff business.
