Keller @ Large: Boston NAACP President Talks Body Cameras

BOSTON (CBS) -- Body cameras on police officers are "just a piece of the solution" for criminal justice reform, the president of Boston's NAACP chapter says.

"They're not the answer – I think it's a combination of things," Michael Curry told WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller on Sunday's Keller @ Large. "Ultimately we want an objective record of what transpired in an altercation with police."

Curry also said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans' call for a buffer zone to keep videotaping citizens from getting too close to officers is "bad timing."

"The reality is everybody's watching and everybody's holding their phone and recording incidents," Curry said. "I really want him to pivot and talk about the use of body cameras."

Keller and Curry also discussed the recent spate of violence in Boston and Black Lives Matter disruptions at presidential campaign events.

You can listen to Keller At Large on WBZ News Radio every weekday at 7:55 a.m. You can also watch Jon on WBZ-TV News.
