Keller @ Large: Baker Calls T Offer Of Free Rides 'Appropriate'

BOSTON (CBS) -- Gov. Charlie Baker was WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller's guest on Keller @ Large this week, offering his take on everything from the MBTA to Jonathan Gruber.

The MBTA's offer of a day of free rides and discounts as compensation for a winter of miserable service is appropriate, Baker said.

"This was an appropriate response," Baker said. "I think the MBTA needed to make some sort of a gesture."

Baker was also asked about his recent shakeup of the state Health Connector Board. Among those fired were Jonathan Gruber, the MIT professor known for his controversial Obamacare comments.

"I was very critical of the performance of that board and their organization," Baker said. "My view on this is that it was time for a change."

The governor also addressed the charter school cap and whether he'll be hitting the campaign trail in 2016.
