Keefe's Celtics Recap: Green, Pressey Lead Way In Washington

BOSTON (CBS) - The Celtics were without guards Rajon Rondo, Avery Bradley and Jerryd Bayless on Wednesday night, but they got a big night from Jeff Green to snap a three-game losing streak and salvage the final game of a three-game road trip.

Green dropped 39 points en route to a 113-111 overtime win in Washington, playing like the Jeff Green Celtics fans have wanted to see since he was acquired by Danny Ainge three years ago. He hit eight three pointers, including a wild running fall-away triple while being double-teamed with 1:19 left to tie the game 99-99.

Rich Keefe breaks down the Celtics win, which saw Green and Pressey starting in the back court due to all the injuries. Pressey was stellar as well, scoring 20 points off 7-of-10 shooting. Combined, Green and Pressey accounted for 59 of the Celtics' 113 points.

Gerald Wallace also came through when it mattered. The veteran forward took just four shots, but came through big with a coast-to-coast layup for the game-winning basket with just two seconds left.

Not to be forgotten is the Celtics pair of 10-day contracts, Chris Johnson and Vander Blue. Johnson scored nine points in 30 minutes off the bench, and Blue scored two points to go with a pair of rebounds in four minutes of play.
