Julien On Seidenberg In Game 7: 'I'd Be Very Surprised'

BOSTON (CBS) -- There is no chance Dennis Seidenberg plays in Wednesday night's Game 7 between the Bruins and Canadiens at the TD Garden.

But that hasn't stopped reporters from asking Bruins head coach Claude Julien about the Boston defenseman.

Seidenberg was back on the ice Wednesday morning during the team's skate, this after he took contact for the first time on Monday. He's been working his way back from a torn ACL and MCL he suffered in late December, and his speedy return to the ice has led to many dreaming about a Seidenberg-Zdeno Chara reunion on the blue-line.

Julien and the rest of the Bruins brass has been answering comeback questions about Seidenberg for the last month, and Julien was asked Wednesday if there was any chance Seidenberg could play in the deciding Game 7 against the Canadiens.

"Uh, I don't think so," said Julien, drawing some laughter from the crowd.

The reporter then told Julien that his response was not a "no."

"I'd be very surprised," replied Julien.

It's obvious that Seidenberg is using those same super-human powers he normally uses against the opposition to speed up his recovery. That makes it somewhat likely that he could return if the Bruins advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond.

But until then, just enjoy some footage of him from today's morning skate:
