Jones: Celtics Don't Need Dwight Howard

Boston (CBS) --- Plenty of rumors surround the Boston Celtics as the Feb. 18 trade deadline approaches. One in particular involving polarizing big man Dwight Howard had Adam Jones and Rich Keefe abuzz on Wednesday night.

While Dwight Howard to Boston is nothing more than a rumor at this time, any mention of his name is bound to open up a debate.

Howard is one of the most skilled big men in the NBA, and in theory, should be able to help any team on the court. His attitude, however, has rubbed many fans and organizations the wrong way. Would the Celtics really want that?

To Jones, the rumor is less about Dwight Howard and more about the Celtics' willingness to look for a trade. It shows that Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is doing what he's supposed to do. He's testing the waters of the trade market.

"Good job by Danny Ainge," said Jones. "Fine, Dwight Howard may be available so kick the tires. What does it take? Maybe you could steal him. Maybe it costs you next to nothing and you get him for way below what I would presume the acquisition cost would be."

Jones, however, cites the widespread knock against Howard's character as a reason the Celtics should stay away.

"Don't need him. Don't want him," said Jones. "Don't like his attitude. Don't like the body language. Don't like how much his body's breaking down."

Many more rumors are bound to pop up over the next two weeks, but for now, this one sure is interesting.
