Crews Battled 20-Acre Fire Near Joint Base Cape Cod

SANDWICH (CBS) – Massachusetts State Police crews fought a 20-acre brush fire near the Joint Base Cape Cod.

Sandwich firefighters and the Department of Conservation and Recreation called for assistance around 10 a.m. on Saturday as the fire began to spread.

The State Police Airwing had a helicopter filling a "Bambi Bucket" at Snake Pond in Sandwich and dumping the water on the fire.

State Police said divers and a boat are at Snake Pond to ensure safe operations.
