Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins 'The Good Wife'

Get ready people, because actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining the critically-acclaimed CBS drama "The Good Wife" and is sure to bring even more drama to the already addictive show.

Morgan, who currently stars in the CBS sci-fi thriller "Extant," will become a series regular on the seventh season of "The Good Wife" opposite Julianna Marguiles. Morgan will play Alex, a calm, experience hourly investigator whom Marguiles' character Alicia hires.

"We've loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years, and we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe," said executive producers Robert and Michelle King.

News of Morgan's addition to the show comes after former series regular Archie Panjabi, who played investigator Kalinda Sharma, exited the series last season

Morgan being on the next season of the drama-filled series seems like a perfect match when looking at the actor's impressive resume, which includes starring roles in the miniseries "Texas Rising," the award-winning series "Magic City," and the Showtime comedy "Weeds."

The seventh season of "The Good Wife" begins Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9PM ET/PT, so you've got some time to catch up with CBS All Access before Morgan's second CBS debut.
