Jay Talking Travel: Belgrade, Serbia

On a recent trip to Romania, I ventured so far west that it made more sense to depart from Belgrade, Serbia. By most accounts Belgrade is a gritty place, but the low prices for lodging allowed me to stay at the Hotel Moscow, which is situated in the best neighborhood, away from much of the post-Soviet ugliness. Check out this fine hotel in the video. The rooms sport photos of famous people who have stayed there, including Einstein, Tesla, Ghandi, and De Niro.

It was interesting to mingle with people that NATO bombed as recently as 1999. I was told it was best not to bring that up while there, and I did not. Belgrade is not worth a dedicated trip, but if you are in the area, you should absolutely stop in for a couple of nights.
