Revolution play to 1-1 draw with Orlando City SC

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (5-5-5, 20 pts.) played Orlando City SC (6-5-4, 22 pts.) to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday night. Carles Gil scored his fourth goal of the season in the 22nd minute, assisted by Gustavo Bou, as New England stretched its unbeaten run to seven games in MLS play.

New England got on the board first as Bou streaked across the midfield line and crossed the ball to Gil, who cut onto his left foot and delivered a curling strike past Orlando goalkeeper Pedro Gallese for the opening goal. This mark's Bou's third assist in six career games against Orlando, Bou crossed the ball over to Gil who delivered a left footed shot from the top of the box sending the ball through the top left corner. With the goal, Gil improved his total to 11 combined goals and assists on the year, tied for third most in MLS. Bou's third assist in five regular season games against Orlando.

Orlando equalized in the 35th minute on a goal from Robin Jansson. Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrović, making his second league start and his debut at Gillette Stadium, turned aside four of the Lions' five shots on target.

Defender Jon Bell and midfielder Sebastian Lletget both returned to the starting lineup, with Bell making his first MLS start since March 19. Jozy Altidore played the entire second half as a substitute, recording one shot.

The New England Revolution are back in action this Sunday against Minnesota United FC. The Revolution will be recognizing the Juneteenth holiday in a variety of ways throughout the evening. In addition, Sunday's game will be Matt Turner's final match with the Revolution before joins Arsenal FC of the English Premier League.
