Jabaal Sheard Reportedly Did Not Travel With Patriots To San Francisco
BOSTON (CBS) – A key member of the Patriots defense will be missing on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, but it won't be due to injury.
According to Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal, defensive end Jabaal Sheard did not travel with the team on Friday. Daniels described the move as a "team decision."
I'm told Jabaal Sheard in fact did not travel with his teammates to San Francisco. This is being called a team decision.

Sheard was not listed on the Patriots injury report at all this week.
Doug Kyed of NESN first noted Friday night that it appeared Sheard had not made the trip, citing the defensive end's Instagram posts from the Celtics game at TD Garden.
Jabaal Sheard is posting from Instagram at the Celtics game, so don't expect to see him Sunday I guess?

The team had already departed for the west coast at the time of Sheard's posts from Boston.
Sheard was a key member of the Patriots defense last year, but has struggled this season and seen his snap counts decrease.
New England and San Francisco play Sunday with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
