J. Geils Charged With Drunk Driving In Concord

CONCORD (CBS) – John Geils, the founder and lead guitarist of the J. Geils Band, was arrested Tuesday on drunk driving charges in Concord.

The Lowell Sun reported that Geils was involved in a crash at the intersection of Elm Street and Shaw Farm Road just before 1 p.m. No one was injured.

Geils, of Groton, was arraigned Wednesday in Concord District Court.

It is the second time Geils has been charged with drunk driving.

He was also cited for failure to use care while stopping following the Tuesday crash.

J. Geils Band was formed in the 1960s in Massachusetts. The group gained national fame with hits like "Centerfold," "Freeze Frame" and others that climbed the charts in the 80s.
