Man Missing For 72 Hours Found Injured In Ipswich Woods

IPSWICH – An injured, dehydrated and hypothermic man was rescued from the woods in Ipswich after he hadn't been heard from in three days.

Ipswich police say a 33-year-old man had not contacted family or friends since Saturday.

Police were able to ping his cell phone, and around 10 a.m. on Wednesday officers found him in the area of Turner Hill Country Club near Willowdale State Forest.

The man was immobile after apparently suffering a fall in addition to suffering from dehydration and hypothermia. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Fire Chief Gagnon and I commend the efforts of our public safety personnel for an outstanding job today," Chief Nikas said. "They coordinated their efforts to quickly locate this individual, which prevented any further injury or the possibility of him succumbing to the elements."
