21-Year-Old Woman From Boston Killed When SUV Crashes Over Guardrail On I-95 In Canton

CANTON (CBS) – A young woman from Boston was killed when an SUV crashed over a guardrail on Interstate 95 in Canton early Thursday morning.

Massachusetts State Police said there were four people in the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee when it went off 95 north, over the guardrail and down an embankment just south of Neponset Street just before 1 a.m.

One passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Boston, was ejected and died at the scene. Her name has not been made public.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Dorchester, and the other two passengers were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

A crane had to be brought in to lift the car out of the woods.

The SUV was lifted out after it crashed over a guardrail on I-95 early Thursday. (WBZ-TV)

There's no word yet on what caused the crash.

"Charges will be determined at the conclusion of the investigation," State Police said in a statement.
