Inmates Overdose At Stafford County Jail

DOVER (CBS) -- Narcan was distributed to multiple inmates at a jail in Dover, New Hampshire Tuesday morning.

Staff at the Strafford County Jail administered the opioid antidote after five inmates overdosed.

Multiple ambulances initially responded to the jail around 8:30 a.m, shortly after morning headcount when staff noticed suspicious activities and conducted further checks.

Three of the inmates were taken to the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

The Dover Fire Chief said that everyone was resuscitated and is expected to recover.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
