Everett Man Indicted In Rape Of Woman Found In Driveway

WOBURN, Mass. (AP) — A 19-year-old Everett man has been indicted on a charge that he raped a young woman found unconscious and nearly frozen in a driveway in March.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced the indictment of Sami Sherif on Monday.

Sherif pleaded not guilty to a similar charge in district court after his arrest March 27. He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Middlesex Superior Court.

Prosecutors said a resident called police after finding the woman shortly before 7 a.m. March 7. She had a body temperature of 77 degrees. She remained unconscious for two days in a hospital before she recovered.

Police said she had been drinking with dozens of teens at a house in Everett the night before. Witnesses said she left the party with Sherif and he later returned alone.
