Environmental Police Seize Undersized Bass, Donate Them To Food Pantry

GLOUCESTER (CBS) – Massachusetts Environmental Police seized 72 pounds of undersized bass from a popular fishing area and donated the illegal catch to an area food pantry.

On Friday, officers on the North Coastal Bureau were conducting surveillance when they saw several people taking fish and hiding them in the woods.

After speaking to the fishermen, officers seized 13 undersized striped bass, ranging from 14-25 inches.

One person was issued a summons for the illegal catch.
